“It’s just, you know, you’ve got to prove what you feel.”
This is a 1983 Australian documentary focusing on a group of punks living communally in a squat in Islington. The narrator follows the vibrant characters as they go about their day to day business, charging 2 quid for a photograph, reciting poetry and sniffing glue. The parts where the punks open up about their relationships, family life and cuddle their pet cats and rats really provide some heart-warming scenes and aspects to the otherwise intimidating characters and their Mohawks.
The film also features the song “I’m a Punk” a parody song written by Doug Mulray, an Australian song writer.
